Trying something new!

Once I went to the beach and I was excited but nervous to go into the water because I was scared that I would get washed away so me and my brother just stayed on the sand making castles. I started to get used to it and now I love going into the water at the beach. My favourite thing is when the waves push me back especially the big waves. I think Waihi beach has good waves and that is my favourite beach so far. The only thing I hate is when I get salt water in my mouth because it tastes yuck. 

Book Buzz Lapita Pottery

This is my book buzz for week nine. I did a digital design of the lapita pottery.  I tried creating my own designs and I added a picture of real pottery to compare it. The easiest part was the shape that I used for my pottery and the hardest part was the pattern because I tried using different ones but then I decided to make my own. It was challenging but fun doing this task. I hope you like my book buzz.

Follow your heart!

One time I was nervous because of swimming sports. Then my heart told me that I should give it a go and so I followed my heart I did freestyle and breaststroke. I tried my best and I didn't know what place I came but It didn't matter at least I gave it a go. I think following my heart was the right thing to do even though you might be nervous or worried. Sometimes you just have to follow your heart!

Loto's Research On Leptospirosis!

Leptospirosis is a type of bacterial disease and It can also be called Weil's disease. Both humans and animals can get it. It is treatable and can be done by a medical professional but without treatment leptospirosis can lead to kidney, liver damage and even death.  Humans can get leptospirosis through urine from infected animals or through water, soil or food contaminated with their urine. Symptoms can usually appear about 5 to 14 days after infection. Some symptoms are high fever, headaches, bleeding, muscle pain, chills, red eyes and vomiting etc. The animals you can get leptospirosis from are sheep, goats, pig, horses, cows, dogs and possums but is rare in cats and those animals could also have leptospirosis.

Underwater Scene WK7

This is my Underwater Scene book buzz from week seven. I posted it this week because I didn't finish it last week and I was also away on Friday. I included seaweed, fish, a starfish. rocks and more sea things. I made it look like the fish were diving down to the bottom of the ocean to the sand. I hope you like my book buzz! 

Would you rather?

Question: Would you rather own a car that could go underwater or own a car that could fly? 

That was a tricky question for me but I chose to own a car that could go underwater because you can explore and see more of the marine life and I also love the ocean. If I had an underwater car I would explore and find sunken ships and maybe find treasure. I might also meet a lot of animals along the way.

   

Dreaming Big

My dream is to be a famous netball player in the Silver Ferns and the Magics. I would also like to become a captain in any of the teams. The reason why I want to be a netball player is because I like playing netball and it is one of my favourite things to do.  My favourite position in netball is centre because I like to start off with the ball sometimes. I don't really have an inspiration but I look up to most netball players.

 

Loto's Visual Pepeha

This is my Visual Pepeha for our inquiry (My Place Our Place) I included my Maunga, harbour, the place where I am from and my name. I had fun colouring in and I tried to use colours that would match with what it says.

Pacific Keys Book Buzz

This is my Book Buzz for week six it's based on our book Where Cuckoos Call. I made a resort on google drawings that could be part of Pacific Keys. It had to have space for six houses. I included houses, a pool with chocolate, strawberry and blueberry floaties and a tennis court. 

Loto's Leprechaun Trap!

This is my Leprechaun trap I made for our St Patrick's day Bingo! I put a trail of money leading to a wooden stump with a green cookie to match the Leprechaun theme. When the Leprechaun eats the cookie she turns around and runs into the rope and then it takes her up. She didn't know that another Leprechaun was watching her. He set the trap! I hope you like my Leprechaun Trap it was very fun but kind of hard to make.

Setting The Scene!

Here are some photos of my setting the scene from Where Cuckoos Call.

In the picture I have Ben and his house, The stream with a wooden bridge and a tree where the Cuckoo is. I included a pathway to Ben's house and I added some flowers around it. I used cotton balls as clouds and up top I added some feathers to match the story. The hardest part was colouring because it takes a while and I wanted to find colours that matched. The easiest part was gluing all the feathers and clouds on because it was much faster and easier.
